Detailled description of the Walpurgis Night firework display Rhine river lights^™ on the Middle Rhine River

On Walpurgis Night on April 30th, the wine town Bacharach on the Rhine River invites to the Walpurgis Night festival on the May festival grounds on the Rhine River shores. A large program awaits the guests and participants of the boat cruise Rhine River lights™ on this day.

Upon request, the guests have the possibility to take a German May Day (May Day is similar to Labor Day) walk along the Rhine River promenade or a guided May Day hike on the walkable town walls in the afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m. This May Day hike not only allows great panoramic views above the town which lies underneath Stahleck castle, but also sweeps away the participants into the history of Bacharach. Groups can also participate in a wine tasting with specialized explanation from a wine grower from Bacharach. Of course a guided wine hike can be organized upon request. Besides this, groups have the possibility to make interesting May Day tours in form of a covered wagon trip upon request.

At 7:15 p.m. the Walpurgis night festival begins. Small meals and drinks are offered at the Walpurgis Night festival. Among these, there is the Rhenish May Day wine (May Day wine cooler, May Day drink). All witches who come to the Walpurgis Night festival with a witch's hat and all sorcerers, who come to the Walpurgis night festival with a sorcerer's hat, receive a coupon for a glass of May Day wine. You can drink from the wine glass, which each guest of the Rhine River lights™ boat cruise receives as a personal souvenir. Music at the Walpurgis Night festival provides good mood.

Boat passengers, which arrive in Bacharach from other Rhine River towns with the boat can visit the Walpurgis Night festival in the May festival hall from 7:15 p.m. until 10:15 p.m.  with live music by a sole entertainer and dancing into the May. An advanced order of the witch meals for those who would like to dine there is urgently recommended. You automatically receive a seating reservation when you make the advanced order of the meals.

After the guests of the round boat cruise Middle Rhine River lights™ with live music and dancing into the May have boarded their boats in the evening, the highlight of the event of Walpurgis Night await them. But before this happens, the prettiest dressed up witch on every boat will be awarded with a prize. The nicest witch receives a witch with a broom (witch doll) as memory of the Walpurgis Night. At about 10:30 p.m. the Walpurgis Night firework begins and lets the sky above the Rhine river shine in the most various colors.

Enjoy the colorful illumination of the sky above the Middle Rhine River during the Walpurgis Night firework from the open air deck of the boat you're on. After all, you'll have the best view from here. There will only be about 5 boats during this event, which means the guests can watch the Walpurgis Night firework literally from the front row. A witch fire is ignited on the Rhine River shores after the firework.

At about 11:30 p.m. return trip of the boats from direction Boppard and Rudesheim with live music and dancing into the May to the departure town.
